May 2015 Mission – Day 1
The first photos from our most recent mission to Honduras have arrived. Upon their arrival they found out that the bus that was supposed to bring them from the airport to Valle de Angeles had broken down. Thanks to great help from our friend Dr Edgardo Valeriano who offered the back if his pickup and brought a friend with another car allowed for the whole team and luggage to arrive in Valle safely.
May 2015 Mission – Day 2
Photos of the team at the clinic upon arrival and in the full swing of things on what is proving to be a busy and productive mission. Despite the fact that their work has been complicated from a lack of ready access to translators they're continuing to work effectively with the local population to provide homeopathic care.
May 2015 Mission – Day 3
The team has arrived in Soroguara about an hour and a half from the Clinica for a day of community work. Aside from the Canadians, we have with us our Honduran counterparts Francisco Javier, Yolanda Salgado, Edgardo Valeriano and Ronald Padilla.
January 2014 Mission – Day 1
The first photos of the mission! The team has arrived. After a delay to recuperate their luggage, and sleeping in the cold without sleeping bags, they are up and running!
January 2014 Mission – Day 2
The clinic has become well known for it's successful treatments of various conditions and families come from far and wide to receive free remedies and treatments.
January 2014 Mission – Day 3
Day 3 of the mission has the team making a trek up the mountain and through the garden patch to visit Nicolasa, 77 years old, who no longer can make the long walk to the clinic.
January 2014 Mission – Day 4
Day 4 has the whole team back at the clinic, seeing more and more patients everyday.
January 2014 Mission – Day 5
Day 5 is another full day of treating patients, minding little ones while their families consult and ending the day with an evening sharing session.
January 2014 Mission – Day 6
Day 6 was another full day at the clinic as well as a meeting with the Fuprova, a local NGO that is a partner with the Clinic. Fuprova helps to build capacity of youth, women and men in the region of Valle de Angeles so that they have greater control over their lives.
January 2014 Mission – Day 7
Today, Norbita trained a group of women leaders in the first line of HTSF remedies. These women live spread out through the mountains and will be able to help their communities with homeopathy year round. Meanwhile, the rest of the team with one less translator is treating what must have been our busiest day. We formed two teams and left a few of us free to finally accomplish a major reorganization if our dispensary.
January 2014 Mission – Day 8 (part 1)
Although it was Saturday, we did not close the clinic and we had many important cases. We treated many cases, including an eight month old baby who was bitten by the "chinche", the insect that carries the Chagas parasite. We all fell in love with this baby and are sent her and her mother home with homeopathy and many well wishes. Today was also another full day of teaching for Norbita.
January 2014 Mission – Day 8 (part 2)
Here are more photos of Norbita and her class as well as the team and patients in the clinic. Her class was for the most made up by medical students in their final year, who were excited to learn about homeopathy and the first line of complexes to be used in acutes. They brought a whole set back to their school.
