Making Heart Based Decisions

Making heart based decisions

Asking our heart’s advice is a way of inviting greater wholeness to guide our decisions and actions. Tuning into our heart helps us tune into the greater wholeness of life and our innermost essence.

If you are struggling with a decision, it is a sign that you need a bigger context from which to see your situation. It is an invitation to grow into greater wholeness so that you embody an evolutionary relationship to life.

Too often, our decisions are based on perceived needs that are just the projection of, or reaction to, an old pattern.  What we truly need is the insight and clarity that comes from contemplating our relationship to a greater whole and greater wholeness.

Your heart’s energy field is strongly interconnected with the whole movement of life. By including your heart (and it’s energy field) in your contemplative process, you can encourage your ‘coherence’ both with the greater whole and within yourself. Your actions will be in unison with, and supported by, the flow of life. Your heart’s guidance leads to a more fulfilling life: one that is truly satisfying for you, your soul and the greater good, and lets you experience the interconnectedness and wholeness of life.  Do the heart-based decision exercise anytime you feel stuck, reactive, needing clarity or caught in indecision.

This exercise will help you to connect with your heart’s energy field and intelligence to help you make decisions that encourage your wholeness and optimize your own inner “coherence“. It builds on last week’s free e-training exercise and you can learn more about both exercises by watching the recording of our recent conference ‘The Heart of Life‘.

1. Surrender your ‘Me’*

Admit you do not know the answer to this one. This is new to your experience. Your usual ways won’t work. Surrender to the fact that you don’t know this time. You need help.

2. Surrender your attachment*

See what you are attached to in this situation. Is there a particular result that you want and are afraid won’t happen? What is it, what do you imagine are the consequences of not having the result your want? Non-attachment to a result doesn’t mean apathetic or disconnected or detached, it means that you are open to other results than the one you are stuck on.

3. Do the heart centering sequence

– Make space.  Pause
– Breathe through the heart
– Breathe rhythmically, smoothly, deeply
– Relax
– Allow heartfelt feeling

4. Ask your question only when…

…you feel you have let go, that you are not holding onto anything or any idea, or a concept of your “self”. Ask your question in an open-ended way (not yes or no, right or wrong).

5. Do the heart centering sequence

– Make space.  Pause
– Breathe through the heart
– Breathe rhythmically, smoothly, deeply
– Relax
– Allow heartfelt feeling

6. Write what comes through

Now write as if the words were pouring through your heart and down your arm. Write without thinking. Write down whatever comes easily and naturally. Don’t make it complex. Just be open to what is flowing through you. It doesn’t have to make sense now.

Engage in something you enjoy with all your heart (art, a walk in nature, dancing) and if you still need to, you can always go through the sequence again to ask about the answer you received if it is not clear.

*Remember that a facilitation session around your indecision or stress that gets matched with a homeopathic remedy can help your coherence and release of attachment, as well as encourage acceptance and engagement with evolution and change.

“By holding the space, guiding me and pushing my limits, MICH is enabling me to grow. It brings light to how being caught in my own belief system has led to disease. Awareness of unconscious reflexes is bringing wellness and lightness of being.”
