Solstice Meditation 2021
This meditation is your invitation to an experience that examines the most important question of our lives: who am I, or better put, who is this I that my thinking process and perceptions assume I am?
As a conscious human being, you have the opportunity to realize that never, not even for an instant, can you be separated from consciousness, love, the source of everything. You are already free, but what blocks your realization of that freedom is your own attachment to some limited thought of who you are. The ego is just a thought: an assumption based on concepts that others have put on us or those that we have put on ourselves.
The winter Solstice, the shortest days of the year in the northern hemisphere is the natural opportunity to turn inward, to become quiet and introspective. Every year, I like to offer a meditation fitting to the spirit of solstice as a gift to everyone who is part of MICH. This solstice I want to invite you to journey into an experience that examines the most important question of our lives: who am I, or better put, who is this I that my thinking process and perceptions assume I am?
In our culture, we base a lot on appearances. One sad conclusion we make is that since you and I appear to be separate then therefore we must be separate. This belief in a separate entity, that we associate with the appearance of a physical body, is also what causes us to experience a separation from Nature, Awareness and the source of all life and creation. This mistaken perception and the conclusions we draw from it is the root of all suffering.
As a conscious human being, you have the opportunity to realize that never, not even for an instant, can you be separated from consciousness, love, the source of everything. Who you are is untouched by any concept of who you are. You are already free, what blocks your realization of that freedom is your own attachment to some limited thought of who you are. The ego is just a thought: an assumption based on concepts that others have put on us or those that we have put on ourselves.
Assumptions, thoughts, patterns and self concepts constitute the ego. You are that which animates the body, but the conviction that “I am this body” is the ONLY obstruction to the truth of who you are. This belief must be maintained every minute with incessant thought activity revolving around the idea of who you have thought yourself to be. Ceasing this thought activity and instead turning your mind in toward the central experiencing, you discover boundless pure Consciousness inherently free of all thought, free of any need for defensiveness, free to experience life fully.
So let’s begin the journey of liberation and if you enjoy this meditation, please share it so that others to access the freedom of boundless, pure Consciousness.
